What is Druidry?

a belief system that guides my approach

SQUARE-IMAGES_living_druidry1.jpg

Being a Druid has shaped my life and experiences in ways that I would not have imagined many years ago.  It has helped me to forge relationships with all beings, encouraged my connections to the earth and the heavens, allowed me to find the elements made manifest in all. As Philip Carr-Gomm, former Chosen Chief of Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, has said, Druidry is experiencing our world through our five senses which allows us to experience beyond.

Druidry has fostered an inquisitive and seeking nature in me of all things – whether they are within or without of my human or spiritual understanding. Having celebrated my Croning a few years back, I understand how life is differently lived through the cycles and aspects of our lives.

Druidry is a path that begins with connection to the land, and is based on the foundations of respect, learning and Ancestor reverence. Through Druidry we live presently, and with awareness.

I have been a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids since 2001.

The OBOD seed group of which I am a member is located in southern Ontario. We meet regularly to observe and celebrate the Eightfold Year, and other ritual and ceremony. If you would like information on our seed group, please get in touch with me.

“I think it’s likely that the ultimate origins of the universe are not just beyond our knowledge, but beyond our capacity to know. The stories we tell ourselves about the origins of the universe – including the story of the Big Bang – help us understand our place in the cosmos. They tell us that even though our lives are a mere blip on a cosmic time scale, we’re a part of everything that ever was or ever will be.”
